Answers to Some of the Most Frequently Asked Questions

  • What age can my child start lessons?

We offer parent-and-child classes from 6 months old. Preschool classes start from 3 years, and we have programmes for school-aged children, teens, and adults.

  • Can I watch the lessons?

Absolutely. Parents and carers are welcome to stay and watch from the designated viewing area, or relax in our lounge area.

Parents and carers must remain on site at all times.

  • Do I need to get in the water with my child?

Yes, for our parent-and-child classes (6 months to 3 years), a caregiver is required in the water.

Once your child turns 3 and joins preschool classes, they’ll swim independently with the instructor.

  • Can both parents be in the class?

For our parent-child classes, one adult is required in the water.

Other parents or carers are welcome to watch and support from the poolside.

No parents are allowed in the water for independent particiaption levels.

  • My child doesn’t need a parent in the class — can I still hop in the water with them?

Once your child is in an independent class, they’ll learn best by following the instructor.

We ask parents to remain out of the pool at this stage to support their confidence and independence.

  • What should we bring to lessons?

Swimmers will need bathers, a towel, a swim cap, and goggles.

Babies and toddlers must wear a fitted swim nappy.  We provide a reusable nappy upon enrolment.

You may also want to bring a change of clothes and a snack for after.

  • What’s in the welcome pack?
